On Friday, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T would issue a challenge to FTR for a match that would see the duo face-off against himself, as well as his Harlem Heat partner Stevie Ray.

Speaking on The Hall of Fame with Booker T & Brad Gilmore podcast, Booker said the following:

“If my brother [Stevie Ray] is available at any time, [a]round Dallas, we’re calling out the FTR. FTR, we’re putting you on notice right now. If you want some, you can get some. If you can get Tony Khan to let you come take an ass whooping, and it won’t be a black mark, no pun intended on the company. Then we can do this.”

In the time since Booker T laid down the challenge for Harlem Heat vs. FTR, FTR’s Dax Harwood has responded. Harwood said they’d accept the challenge if Booker can get permission from his “daddy” Vince McMahon.

Harwood’s full response on the challenge from Harlem Heat reads as follows:

“Hey, what’s up Booker? I heard what you had to say and I guess the cool thing to do nowadays is attach your name to FTR. If you want a match, if you want a marquee match-up. And I understand that and I get that you want one last run. Whether your names are the Briscoe brothers, or Sting and Darby [Allin], or you’re Booker T. You attach your name to FTR so you can have one last great match. And I understand that, and I get that, and I don’t blame you.

“But right now, I’m on a vacation here in my Airbnb. And the funny thing is, I don’t have to wait till Dallas. I’m already in Texas, I’m in San Antonio, Texas and I’m enjoying some family time. But, Booker you called us out and you said if we were gonna be around Dallas, then come take this “ass whopping” if Tony Khan would let us.

“The funny thing is, I don’t have to answer to anybody. That’s you that answers to somebody. Your daddy Vince McMahon, you gotta’ answer to him and get permission from him. I don’t have to get permission from anybody. I run my life, nobody else tells me what to do. I run my life! And here’s the thing, I’m December 2019 TLC pay-per-view, I challenged you. Me and my partner Cash [Wheeler] we challenged you and your brother to a match for the Royal Rumble, and I saw the bit*h in your eyes then. I saw the bit*h in your eyes because you didn’t say anything else and you didn’t accept the challenge.

“You didn’t go to Vince and politic to him, I can’t politic to him because you know he ain’t gonna give me what I want because I’m a five-foot-ten North Carolinian. But if you, Hall of Famer Booker T would’ve went to him and said ‘this is what I want, one last opportunity to prove that Harlem Heat is the greatest tag team of all time.’ You had that opportunity and you didn’t go for it. So, right now I’m telling you Book, if you want it. If you want FTR, [then] open arms. I don’t have to answer to anybody. You answer. You’re the corporate man. I ain’t corporate man, I’m the one that rocks the boat. You stand in a straight line. If you want FTR, if you want myself and Cash, if you want the absolute best tag team of all time walking this earth today, you and your brother just get on the phone. Call daddy Vince, see what he has to say. Until then, stay off my mentions”
