Nobody can fill the spot Ilja Dragunov has carved out for himself as part of the WWE roster, according to the reigning WWE NXT World Champion.
Dragunov is in his first reign as WWE NXT World Champion after winning the gold from Carmelo Hayes at NXT: No Mercy this past September.
On a recent edition of WWE’s “The Bump,” Dragunov spoke about his WWE career and how it’s changed since feuding with GUNTHER in NXT UK. He said,
“Entirely different. I mean, look at my body of work I’ve put in since I came back to NXT back in November. Every single performance I’m in is memorable. People will see a difference as soon as I step into the ring. People feel something. People feel a connection, they feel an intensity that they’ve never seen before. There’s no one, at this point, doesn’t matter if it’s NXT or WWE in general, who can fill my spot because I’m entirely unique, and this is a reason why I’m sitting here as the NXT Champion.”
Dragunov will defend the WWE NXT World Championship against Baron Corbin at the WWE NXT: Deadline pay-per-view event. The show will take place on December 9, from the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT.
