As seen during last week’s episode of AEW Collision, there was a heated exchange during a promo segment featuring Adam Copeland and Ricky Starks.
In the opening segment, the two men appeared to be briefly shooting on each other, with Copeland calling Starks a ‘vanilla midget’ who stole from The Rock. This caused speculation among fans and even some talent that there was some legitimate heat between the two men. Despite this, that is not the case.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the promo did in fact become heated, but there were no issues between Copeland and Starks following the segment.
One source says Copeland doesn’t get “rattled” by promos like that. It is said that he writes his own material and has done so since he was in WWE. As Starks’ promo progressed, Copeland simply tried to give back what was being given to him. Starks wasn’t upset with this, as he felt what Copeland said wasn’t anything he hadn’t heard before.
Another source says if they have another in-ring promo together, it will likely lead to a similar back and forth.
Finally, it was added that Copeland has been getting rave reviews from everyone in AEW. He’s incredibly excited to be there and wants to help as much as possible.
