John Cena is well aware that the clock is ticking for a potential 17th WWE World Championship victory.

Cena, a 16-time WWE World Champion, won his first title at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, and most recently held the title after winning at the 2017 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

Taking part in a Comic Con Wales Q&A, Cena was asked about a return and title win, and is aware that time is running out.

“I know I’m not done in the ring. But I am realistic with where I’m at in my life. I’m 45 and I can tell you from being a 16-time champion, it is very tough to win.

“The top of that mountain is a young man’s game. So I’m not done in the ring. but I’m not certain that that’s in the cards. We’ll see.”

Cena last competed on WWE TV at Summerslam 2021, in a losing effort to Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
