The recently released DVD of former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, told the story of K.O.’s trials & tribulations on his way into the WWE. During the documentary, NXT overseer Triple H, stated that John Cena was the man who called for Kevin Owens to come to the main roster so fast, which eventually lead to Owens going over Cena multiple times.
Here’s an excerpt from that particular portion of the documentary:
Triple H: “Kevin came across as very authentic and I think Vince saw that. I know Cena saw that because Cena was the one that went to Vince and said that ‘lemme do this US open challenge with him and bring him to TV’, it just all worked out.”
