UPDATE x 2: Johnny Gargano took to Twitter following Sunday night’s WWE NXT WarGames event and said it’s been a “hell of a run” and he’ll let everyone know what’s up with his contract on this week’s episode of WWE NXT 2.0.

It appears Gargano will at least be taking some time off as his wife Candice LeRae is pregnant. Whether he signs a new contract with WWE NXT or not remains to be seen.

Gargano tweeted,

“Hell of a run..

Thank you all. [Red heart]

#JohnnyTakeOver”

UPDATE: Following Sunday night’s “WarGames” pay-per-view event, Johnny Gargano cut a promo and said he’ll address his future on this week’s episode of WWE NXT.

Sam Roberts posted a video of Gargano’s post-show promo, where he said the following,

“I want to say thank you. There wouldn’t be a Johnny Wrestling without you. You guys know I love you right back. But I am an open book with you guys and I’m always 100% honest and 100% authentic with you because I feel like you guys aren’t just fans, we’ve known each other for such a long time and you guys are like my family.

“Right now, I’m beat up. I’m sore. I’m tired. I got a lot on my mind, but I want to tell you guys everything and I will tell you guys everything this Tuesday night. Okay everybody come back here Tuesday night. I’m gonna tell you guys everything okay?”

ORIGINAL: As many of you know by now, Johnny Gargano & Kyle O’Reilly’s WWE contracts are expiring in the very near future and there has been a lot of speculation as to whether they will re-sign with the company. We know Gargano recently signed a short-term contract extension so he could work the WarGames event.

According to a report from Fightful, the assumption of many of those within WWE is that neither man will be around after this week is up. WWE offered them both multi-year deals and have made it known that they want their services.

Both Johnny Gargano & Kyle O’Reilly are expected to be backstage at Tuesday’s NXT TV tapings, so they won’t be doing their farewells just yet. As of this writing, there is no word on if they’ll be working the NXT TV tapings, though one source “high up” in the company suggested that the “worst case scenario” was that even if both re-signed, one of them would wind up taking some time off.

With that being said, the overall belief is that at least one (if not both) of them will be leaving the company and will explore other options. As you’d expect, the two are well aware of their size not doing them any favors with Vince McMahon and job security in WWE being at an all-time low these days even if they are under multi-year contracts.
