Kenny Omega and Mercedes Mone have fans talking about their tweets sent out today.
Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, made her debut in New Japan Pro Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 17 to set up her IWGP Women’s Championship match with KAIRI at Battle in the Valley. Mone went over in that bout.
Mone released a documentary before the event where it was revealed that she met Omega backstage before her debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
To plug the documentary, Mone noted that it was nice to meet the top AEW wrestler for the first time and she looks forward to them crossing paths again. The former AEW World Heavyweight Champion responded by also teasing a potential mixed tag team match with the IWGP Women’s Champion.
The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II pay-per-view is listed on the Spectrum PPV event page for June 24.
