Kurt Angle is expecting big things for CM Punk in WWE if the former AEW World Champion can avoid ruffling any feathers behind the scenes.
Punk returned to WWE at last weekend’s Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 pay-per-view event, close to a decade after he walked out of the promotion in January 2014.
On a recent edition of his “The Kurt Angle Show” podcast, the Olympian admitted that he was surprised to see Punk return and discussed what he can do now. He said,
“It’s great news. I’m really surprised he’s back. I will say this, if he keeps his nose clean and doesn’t ruffle any feathers, he’s gonna have a great time there. He’s gonna really be huge for the company. We know that CM Punk can sometimes get himself in trouble. Hopefully, he won’t. I think that he’s going to do really well for the company and that’s a big deal for the company right now to have him back.”
In October of last year, Angle criticized Punk for his comments and actions following All Out 2022 and branded the actions of the former AEW World Champion “inexcusable.”
