Kurt Angle may have been part of numerous factions throughout his career, but the Olympian is grateful that he was never part of the Aces & Eights.

The faction, heavily inspired by Sons of Anarchy, debuted in Impact Wrestling in 2012 with members including Bully Ray, D-Von Dudley, and Mr. Anderson.

Speaking about the group during the latest episode of his podcast, Kurt said he was never presented with the opportunity to join.

“No. no, they didn’t [ask me to join.] I’m glad they didn’t. I don’t think I would have liked being [a part of it]. I know this – if I would have went in, I wouldn’t have been one of the top guys. I would have been hanging out in the mid-card somewhere so that it wouldn’t [have] helped me at any point in time.”

Angle added that the Aces & Eights storyline, which lasted approximately a year, proved to be too big for its own good.

“The Aces & Eights storyline took over TV. It got so big. The same exact thing happened with the nWo in WCW. It was a cool little faction, but then all of sudden it grew and became out of control. There were just too many.”

Instead of joining the Aces & Eights, Angle would reunite the Main Event Mafia to feud with the faction.
