Mark Henry Says AEW Collision Match Should’ve Been On Pay-Per-View

Mark Henry believes the recent AEW World Championship match between MJF and Kenny Omega would have belonged on any pay-per-view event.

On last week’s episode of AEW Collision, MJF defended his title against Omega, who was looking to not only win the title but keep the record as the longest-reigning AEW World Champion.

During a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Henry questioned the decision to have the match take place on Collision rather than at a pay-per-view. He said,

“There’s no way that should have been free. I would have charged everybody to see that [laughs]. That’s a dream match. It had pay-per-view written all over it — unbelievable from beginning to end, and somebody like a Kenny Omega almost deserves the pay-per-view platform. Maxwell, as good as he is, I even see there’s room for improvement — he’s going to be so much better in the next two to three years. His psychology is tremendous, and his ability to captivate the audiences and pull people in … for a young guy, he’s beyond his years. Absolutely incredible.”

MJF will break the record for the longest-reigning AEW World Champion later this week. His next title defense will come against Jay White at AEW Full Gear on November 18.
