WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley believes WWE is kidding themselves if they genuinely believe AEW is not serious competition.
AEW launched in 2019 and has proven to be the biggest competition in the west to WWE since the collapse of WCW in 2001.
While speaking on his Foley is Pod podcast, the Hardcore Legend said WWE should treat AEW as competition.
“When people say ‘are you a WWE loyalist?’ I say, first and foremost, I’m for the boys. And when I say boys, I mean collectively, the men and the women I want what’s best for the talent and ultimately, I do believe that what’s best for the talent is best for the company.
“So, I love WWE, but I love the fact that there’s a strong competition. If they’re claiming it’s not competition, they’re fooling themselves.”
Foley has yet to make any appearances for All Elite Wrestling.
