Gable Steveson’s release from WWE came about as he was not proving to be worth the investment the promotion had made in him.
The Olympic Gold Medalist was released earlier this month, less than three years after his high-profile signing in 2021.
On today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, it was said that “His contract was a very big money contract and he wasn’t cutting it.”
Steveson’s WWE career started off rocky as reports came out in 2022 that he was not making the progress in the Performance Center the company had expected from him.
Steveson’s sole televised match took place at WWE NXT Great American Bash 2023 and saw the Olympian reach a count-out draw with Baron Corbin.
