In the opening match of the kickoff of WrestleMania 35, Tony Nese defeated Buddy Murphy to capture the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

In the third match of the Wrestlemania kickoff show, The Revival defended the RAW Tag Team Championships against the team of Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins.
Curt Hawkins defeated Scott Dawson via a rollup pin ending the 269 day losing steak to become the new WWE RAW Tag Team Champions.
