A new lawsuit is expected to move ahead against Vince McMahon and WWE. This suit alleges that by forcing his way back on to the Board of Directors, McMahon is in breach of a fiduciary.
Last June, Scott & Scott Attorneys at Law announced that they would be part of a legal team investigating the hush-money payments made by Vince McMahon. At the time, Scott & Scott were investigating McMahon and WWE for breach of fiduciary duties to the company and its shareholders. McMahon and WWE were also under investigation for violating federal securities law by six other legal firms.
Now it appears that the lawsuit brought forward by Scott & Scott is ready to move ahead. Pwinsider reports that an individual who is a party in the potential lawsuit received an email that the law firm believes they have enough to bring the case against McMahon forward.
The email notes that since Vince McMahon forced his way back into WWE by way of the Board of Directors, the law firm believes there is enough of a basis to bring about a breach of a fiduciary lawsuit. The law firm is also seeking to file a complaint against McMahon and other board members and officers for breaching their fiduciary duties.
