ROH issued the following:
At Supercard of Honor, the then-ROH Enforcer Bully Ray came ringside when the Dawgs attacked Cheeseburger and his partner Eli Isom prior to their match and appeared to help Cheeseburger. ‘Burger, who had been looking for the perfect partner to extract revenge on the Dawgs, put Bully Ray on the spot, asking him to be his partner.
It was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
From there, Bully attacked ‘Burger and tried to hold the biggest night in ROH history hostage before COO Joe Koff pleaded and Flip Gordon came out to stand up to Bully. This event was the catalyst for Bully being dismissed as Enforcer and his return to wrestling. But his words are what have engaged Gordon. Now, these two will meet at Best in the World in Baltimore!
BULLY RAY vs. FLIP GORDON
Bully Ray has called the young ROH talent entitled, soft, and more, and the target of much of his vitriol has been Flip Gordon! Gordon has been the one Ring of Honor star to stand up to Bully Ray in his attempts to halt matches, ruin debuts, and more, even leaving the imprint of his foot on the face Bully in Lakeland at Bound By Honor!
Things got extremely personal when Bully offered an apology and a seemingly heartfelt thank you for Gordon’s service in Chicago before Bully revealed his true colors. Bully attacked Gordon after handing Gordon his parents’ cards and saying that Bully’s parents had hoped to retire to Gordon’s native Montana.
