It was revealed at Thursday’s NXT TV tapings in Winter Park, Florida that Asuka would be relinquishing the NXT Women’s Title.
William Regal walked down to the ring and introduced Asuka, who cuts a promo about how much she loves NXT. Regal called her one of the greatest champions in WWE history. Asuka announced that she is stepping down as NXT Women’s Champion and is in negations with Raw and SmackDown Live. The entire locker room came out and applauded her. Triple H walked down to the ring and gave her roses.
Asuka broke her right collarbone during her match with Ember Moon at this past Saturday at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III special. Typically, the recovery time for the injury is 6-8 weeks. She will likely make her main roster debut when she is fully healthy.
