Roman Reigns successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39 (Night Two), to the utter shock and dismay of the WWE Universe.
With rumors swirling around about WWE’s potential sale to Endeavor, the parent company of UFC (and theories that Roman’s retention might have something to do with it), the Undisputed Champion was asked about the sale at the post-WrestleMania 39 (Night Two) media scrum. He said,
“I was busy smashing your favorite. I don’t really know too much about that. Today was a busy day for me. Whatever happened, I’m sure they’re all very lucky to have me, I know that much.”
Paul Heyman then cheekily referenced the reporter in question asking CM Punk a question at the infamous AEW All Out 2022 media scrum, that spurred his rant on Colt Cabana, Hagman Page, The Young Bucks and more, which eventually morphed into the ‘brawl out’ incident and Punk and The Elite’s suspension from the company. Heyman said,
“Yeah, he has a bad habit of starting problems at press conferences.”
Reigns, Heyman, and the journalists then had a chuckle, as The Wise Man showed off his wit.
As for AEW’s backstage issues, The Elite made their returns shortly thereafter, while Punk remains off television, despite reportedly having recovered from the injury he sustained in his match with Jon Moxley at All Out.
