Several reports surfaced last week about Warner Bros. Discovery sending a memo to All Elite Wrestling regarding toning down some of the language on its programming.
During Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Ace Steel dropped an F-bomb during his promo segment with CM Punk.
According to a report from Pwinsider, Steel returned to the backstage area and immediately took responsibility for using the expletive on the air. He apologized to AEW President Tony Khan and others behind the curtain, saying he got caught up in the moment. Additionally, Steel agreed to pay a fine for using the word. That fine was paid today and it will be donated to a charity.
Several top AEW officials praised Steel and the company for taking immediate action and said it was an example of how to deal with errors and accept responsibility.
