According to a report from Fightful, Impact Wrestling Superstar Acey Romero has requested his release from the company. As of this writing, Romero is still under contract on a paid-per-appearance deal. He hasn’t been used since the April TV tapings and recently asked for his release.
As we reported back in May, Romero tested positive for COVID-19. He later appeared on Tommy Dreamer’s “House of Hardcore” podcast and revealed that he had experienced serious symptoms. Prior to being removed from television, Romero had been working with Larry D as XXXL.
As of this writing, there is no word on if he’s been granted his release from the company.
