According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kazuchika Okada hasn’t been featured in the New Japan Pro Wrestling title picture as of late because he’s suffering from a back injury.
Okada continues to work matches with two slipped discs in his lower back. According to reports, the injury is “legitimately crippling” as it pertains to the style he can work. This has led to him taking it easy in the prelim matches.
Another source says Okada is usually “hurting bad” backstage after his matches.
Kazuchika Okada vs. Shingo Takagi is scheduled for this Saturday in the first round of the New Japan Cup.
