WWE had wanted to book a main event match between WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and top boxing star Tyson Fury with the title on the line this year, according to Inside The Ropes.
The idea was that this contest would’ve headlined a pay-per-view event in the UK. The company even talked to the two stars about it.
However, this idea was nixed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether WWE tries to do it with fans in attendance at a later date remains to be seen.
