Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has predicted that Cody Rhodes will win next year’s Men’s Royal Rumble.
On this week’s RAW, Rhodes was written off TV to recover from a torn pectoral muscle that he suffered hours ahead of last Sunday’s Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event.
Flair, who won the 1992 Rumble, told listeners of his To Be The Man podcast that Cody will confront Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns next year.
“Cody’s gonna be the champion sooner or later,” Flair said. “I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to get that championship off where Roman has both of them — get one of them off him. I think the company functions better with two champions anyway.”
When asked about Cody winning the Men’s Rumble match, Flair said he’s confident in the American Nightmare if he’s healed in time.
“Absolutely [he’ll win the Rumble match] if that’s the time frame. Those things are very delicate. That tissue in there takes a long time to heal, and you can’t rush it.”
Flair is scheduled to wrestle his final match at Starrcast V next month.
Last month, Fightful Select reported that San Antonio’s Alamodome is the likely home of the 2023 Royal Rumble.
