Randy Orton has not been on WWE television since The Usos defeated RK-Bro in a unification title match on the May 20th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Orton was attacked by The Bloodline to be written off television following the match.
As previously reported here on eWn, Orton required a fusion in his lower back and had surgery last November that will keep him out of action for an extended period of time.
According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE likely won’t be reforming the team when Orton returns. The report notes,
“Drew McIntyre & Sheamus are now being called The Banger Bros. A key question from that regards both Orton & Riddle as RKO Bro, which would seem to mean there are no imminent plans for them to return because the WWE doesn’t usually like to do names so similarly. There was a lot of concern regarding Orton’s career due to his back issues.”
