While many fans believe that CM Punk is a shoo-in to win the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble, Teddy Long wouldn’t be surprised if he came up short.
Punk is one of five men confirmed for the Men’s Rumble match and is joined by Bobby Lashley and former winners Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Drew McIntyre.
On a recent edition of the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, Teddy Long explained why WWE could go with somebody other than the Best in the World. He said,
“That’s the way the Attitude era was, you know what I mean? It is slowly coming back there, it’s getting there. You didn’t just come to see one person, you came to see everybody on that card and that’s how it should be. You know so no one person should think they took credit for the whole thing… I would not be surprised if CM Punk didn’t win it.”
Recent odds from Bet Online place Punk as the favorite to win, with 2023 runner-up GUNTHER taking second place while Cody Rhodes is third.
