All Elite Wrestling has confirmed that the second barbed wire deathmatch in company history will be happening on the July 20th edition of Dynamite between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho.
The other Jericho Appreciation Society members will be locked inside a shark cage above the ring for the match.
This is being done as a tie-in for the upcoming “Shark Week,” according to Dave Meltzer on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.
Discovery asked the promotion to do a gimmick match as a tie-in for the week, and AEW President Tony Khan came up with this idea. It’s unknown whether there will be any restrictions for wrestlers who have been helping Kingston during his storyline against Jericho, such as the Blackpool Combat Club.
As of this writing, no other matches have been confirmed for this episode.
