The Rock appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” today and discussed a potential match with Roman Reigns, his absence from wrestling since 2013, and more.
As we previously reported here on eWn, WWE wanted to book Reigns vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 39, but The Rock felt he couldn’t get in good enough shape in time.
During the podcast, The Great One recalled that he tore his abdomen during his match with John Cena, but that’s not why he hasn’t wrestled again.
The Rock confirmed that he made a handshake deal with WWE to face Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but they couldn’t figure out something that would change the business coming out of it and agreed to revisit the idea at a later date. He said he is now open to a match at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, PA.
