On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa provided an update on her potential in-ring return.

Rosa wrestled her last match just over a year ago before she was written off AEW television due to a back injury. She later relinquished her AEW Women’s World Championship. Rosa said,

“If everything goes well I’ll be having my first five-minute match…a year since I’ve been injured. It’s been a year and like it’s hard to look back at it. I’m doing a lot better somedays because of the pressure and because I’m training a lot I get a little scared because I don’t want to get re-injured…I still have the injury, it hasn’t went away. The only thing that went away are the tears in my back…I’m a little nervous, not gonna lie.”

In other news, Saraya will compete in the AEW Women’s World Championship match at AEW All In 2023 at Wembley Stadium, and she addressed the upcoming title match on Twitter/X, writing,

“I haven’t wrestled in my home country in around 7/8 years.
I haven’t won a championship in 9 years.
I was told I would NEVER wrestle again.

I’m coming home.. and I’m gonna walk out of Wembley stadium in front of my family and countryman the AEW women’s world champion.”

Saraya earned the title shot with a win over Sky Blue on AEW Rampage and will face champion Hikaru Shida as well as Toni Storm and either Britt Baker or The Bunny at the August 27th pay-per-view event in London.
