As reported earlier this evening by our own Ryan Clark (see “original report” below), new details are being released on WWE telling all corporate employees this afternoon that they would not be receiving bonuses or raises going forward. In a report by Pwinsider, WWE informed everyone in all departments that a “freeze” is being placed on all raises, promotions and so forth. This is being done as a financial decision due to their Q4 earnings report, which wasn’t very good for the company.
All performance bonuses are still on the table. Only time will tell on how long this will last, but there was obviously a negative reaction to the news from most WWE employees (and rightfully so). This was held as an individual based meeting rather than a company wide meeting held by supervisors and managers from different departments, as they informed staff of the news.
ORIGINAL REPORT: According to a report from Fightful, WWE held a meeting with their corporate employees earlier today. The meeting left a lot of them upset. Many of the employees were informed that they would not be getting promotions, raises, or bonuses.
The people involved with the meeting were very upset and the morale was low coming out of it. For what it’s worth, none of the company’s talent/performers were involved in the call.
WWE’s Q4 financial report saw decreased revenue for the quarter, but record results for 2020.
