The following is from our play-by-play coverage of the WWE Crown Jewel PPV event:
First Round WWE World Cup Tournament match: Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley:
Lashley tosses Rollins down early and flexes. Some chops and strikes from Rollins early. Lashley fires back now and tosses Rollins into the ropes. Rollins with a flying kick that forces Lashley to roll out the ring. Rollins looks to go for an outside dive, but Lashley zooms back into the ring and hits a chokeslam for a two count. Lashley grinding away at Rollins on the mat now.
Rollins back to his feet now and breaks free, but Lashley is back on the attack, smashing Rollins’ head into the turnbuckle. Lashley tosses Rollins into another corner and dives into his midsection for a two count. Lashley again grinds away at Rollins on the mat. Full Nelson on Rollins on their feet, and Lashley hits a DDT. Vertical suplex from Lashley, but Rollins fights out of it with a knee. Rollins clotheslines Lashley out of the ring, and hits a suicide dive on Lashley, and goes back for another one just for good measure.
Rollins tosses Lashley into the ring and goes to the top rope. Lashley hops up and jumps to the top to fight Rollins. Rollins rolls into a powerbomb position but Lashley escapes. He bulldozes towards Rollins, but Lashley misses and hits the ring corner. As he turns around, Rollins rolls him up and hits the Curb Stomp for the three count.
