WWE released several NXT 2.0 Superstars last week including Malcolm Bivens, who made it clear that he had no intention of re-signing with the company. This was despite WWE making pitches for him on the main roster.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the NXT creative team was said to be caught off guard by the news as they were not told about plans to release Bivens ahead of time.
Bivens had been part of the Diamond Mine stable and prior to his release, they teased tension between Bivens and Roderick Strong. The creative team had been working on ways to continue the angle and then Bivens was let go.
