The following is our play-by-play coverage of the WWE NXT TakeOver 36 event:
WWE NXT UK Champion WALTER vs. Ilja Dragunov
These guys didn’t waste any time and started chopping each other. WALTER hit a powerbomb on the apron. WALTER hit a powerslam for a near fall before kicking him on the ground. Ilja tried to mount a flurry, but was chopped down and ate a big boot. WALTER with a series of strikes, but Ilja fought out of a hold with more elbow strikes. Ilja made his comeback with a series of chops then a power suplex.
Ilja with another slam for a near fall. Ilja with a drop kick off the top rope then went for an uppercut, but WALTER caught him and put him in a sleeper. Ilja with an uppercut for a near fall. WALTER went to the top rope and Ilja hit a superplex for good measure then a drop kick. WALTER with a series of powerbombs then a splash off the top rope for 2. Ilja rocked him with a spring board crossbody off the middle rope. Ilja with a sleeper for the win.
