WWE has released the official poster for SummerSlam 2021. The poster features John Cena and Roman Reigns, giving a strong indication that their bout will headline the event.

John Cena vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship was made official on this week’s episode of SmackDown. In storyline, Finn Balor was initially set to face Reigns for the title at SummerSlam. However, Baron Corbin attacked Balor as he went to sign the contract to make the match official. Cena would then hit the ring, sending Corbin out of the ring and would sign the contract himself.
The match would then be made official by WWE authority figures Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce later in the show.
