WWE TLC Review & Match Ratings

I am not having high expectations from WWE PPV for the past few months. These months are not great for business and with Wrestlemania season nearing, WWE needs to come out of the blue to give us what we deserve.

I’ll do a match to match review.

Pre Show:

Fandango (w. Summer Rae) v Dolph Ziggler.

Take my bet, their will be a rematch tomorrow on Monday Night Raw. Yes, WWE loves PPV rematches.

Fandango wins with a leg drop after Ziggler was distracted by beautiful Summer Rae.

Good match, nothing special. It seemed a bit too rushed. It hurts my intelligence, watching this talented wrestler, Dolf Ziggler, completely lost in the shuffle. We cannot expect every talented wrestler getting a push so let’s not complain.

Rating: **1/2 (out of 5)

PPV.

PPV begins with a strong promo. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon gave an overview of the Main Event. Only thing to note was Steph using “Professional Wrestling.” I marked out.

1. 3 on 1 handicap match: CM Punk v The Shield.

Any match featuring C.M Punk has to good. It was good to see WWE finally tease a Shield Break Up. They were a good stable but every good thing must come to an end. You can either die a legend, or live long to lose your legacy just how NWO lost.

Reigns spears Ambrose after Punk moved and Punk pins Ambrose for the win

Ratings: ***1/2

2. Diva’s Championship: Natayla v AJ Lee (w. Tamina Snuka)

Finally, a decent Diva’s match. Crowd was pretty dead at times. Aj and Natayla can fight, and they can fight well. Both women countered their submission moves. AJ wins when Natayla was attempting sharpshooter. A good match.

Ratings **1/2

3. Intercontinental Championship: Damien Sandow v Big E Langston

We’ve seen such matches on RAW numerous times.

Big E retained by hitting his finisher. Short match, nothing special

Ratings: **

4. WWE Tag Team Championship: The Real Americans v Rey Mysterio & Big Show v Ryback & Curtis Axel v Cody Rhodes & Goldust

This was a match which could have had a good build up. But instead, we get to see a random match.

Some good moves, here and there. Match could have been WAY to good if it had a good build up.

Mysterio goes for the 619 but is countered and Rhodes goes for the Alabama slammer but he is countered. It ends up with Rhodes hitting crossrhodes on Rey for the pin and to retain the championships.

Ratings ***

5. Brodus Clay (w. Tons of Funk) v R-Truth

Filler. Brodus slow heel turn (Nobody cares).

R-Truth wins when Tensai gets pissed after Brodus shouts he is better than him.

Ratings *

6. No Disqualification Match: Kofi Kingston v The Miz

Seen this match a thousand times already. Same old sequence. Nothing special. The Miz exposes the steel turnbuckle but it would go back to hit him in the face as Kofi countered him and pushes him into the steel and hit the trouble in paradise for the win.

Ratings: **1/2

7. 3 on 1 handicap match: Daniel Bryan v The Wyatt Family

I was actually waiting for Bryan’s match. The show was forgettable till now. Match has some intense moments.

Bryan loses but won hearts after showing some good battle. Bryan loses a lot but he wins heart and that is keeping him in main event level always.

I was impressed by this match. Bryan is pinned after Sister Abigail from Bray for the victory.

Ratings: ***1/2

8. Tables, Ladder & Chairs match [Unification match]: World Heavyweight Championship & WWE Championship: Randy Orton v John Cena

It had a strong build up. They got around 11 minutes of build up before the match could begin. So Ziggler goes down on pre show and Cena Vs Orton receives 10 mins of build up. Life is a bitch.

Randy wins after defeating Cena in tug of war. Well, just being naughty. The match was surprisingly good. It was not upto the WWE’s expectations but it was far better than what we had expected. I was hoping for a screw job kid of a finish but finally we’ve a unified champion. Congrats Randy Orton. No complains as it will lead to something worth watching in future.

After the match, Vince, Steph and HHH comes to congratulate Randy Orton.

So who goes face against Authority? HBK, Vince, Steph, HHH, all are working Heels. Will we see an Austin return? Maybe. I hope not. I want to see the young generation take revenge and come out victorious against evil at Wrestlemania.

Ratings: ****

Conclusion: 6.5/10

Good PPV, main event was really good. I am waiting to watch tomorrow’s Raw. Would Vince officially join Authority. Would we see a power struggle as we had all predicted? Would we see a Jericho’s return as he mischievously tweeted?

Tune in to Monday Night Raw Tomorrow,

Until then. Take care. Hope you like it.

Thanks,

Nikhil Chandwani
