Booker T was delighted to have his final notable feud in WWE be against Cody Rhodes over the Intercontinental Title Rhodes held at the time.
On a recent edition of the “SHAK Wrestling” podcast, Booker T recalled the feud and what it was like to work with the future WWE main eventer. He said,
“I was so pleased to work with Cody Rhodes… That was my swan song. That was the match that I wanted to leave in people’s minds the way I left the business — putting Cody Rhodes over. Me, looking up at the lights. It’s awesome to see Cody where he is now,”
Booker T returned to WWE that same year as part of the 40-Man Royal Rumble match and failed to dethrone Rhodes when the two faced off at WWE: TLC.
Booker T was appointed SmackDown General Manager in 2012 and received his first of two WWE Hall of Fame inductions in 2013 on the eve of WrestleMania 29.
