It’s been widely known that Drew McIntyre’s contract was set to expire after WWE WrestleMania 40, and now that the event has passed, fans have wondered what his future holds. However, it is believed within WWE that a new agreement will be reached eventually.
McIntyre won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 only to lose it to Damian Priest, who cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase moments later.
Pwinsider reported today that an agreement has not been finalized yet, as discussions have been ongoing between the two parties for a few weeks now.
The delay is due to the negotiations surrounding the terms of a potential new contract. According to sources, McIntyre’s existing contract is set to expire within the next 5-6 weeks.
