AEW Dynamite Results (5/22/2024)
#1. Orange Cassidy & Will Ospreay vs. Trent Beretta & Roderick Strong – Winners: Beretta & Strong with an assist from Wardlow
Don Callis, who was on commentary, has seen enough. He tries to see to Orange Cassidy, but Trent Beretta won’t let him near. The Undisputed Kingdom bust up Will Ospreay and finishes him with the End Of Heartache.
Backstage, The Elite tells Darby Allin he is barred after what he did last week. They hand out posters with his face on to the security team. Sonjay Dutt compliments them on their great work. His Indian Giant is going to destroy Bryan Danielson tonight. If he beats him, good… but if he injures him, that would be great.
Next up, the Bang Bang Gang make their way to the ring. Jay White says there is one special gold member walking around, wondering how he ended up where he did. That one gold member is Pac. Mistake #1, he didn’t run when they came rocking down the corridor. Mistake #2, when they were handling business, he stuck his ugly little nose in where it doesn’t belong. Mistake #3, he questioned them. He pleaded with them to make him care, so they gave him what he asked for.
Pac appears on the screen. He can’t even be mad at them. He provoked them, but gentlemen… three on one? That’s not exactly fair now. Allow him to introduce some of his guys. Death Triangle returns! They send a message to Bang Bang Gang, before Pac challenges them for the Unified Trios Championship at Double Or Nothing.
Chris Jericho & Big Bill make their way to the commentary table for the next match.
#2. [FTW Championship Eliminator] Hook vs. Katsuyori Shibata vs. Bryan Keith – Winner: Hook & Shibata via submission
Chris Jericho congratulates them, and is happy they can be part of the Jericho Vortex. He is just getting started with the FTW Championship. He isn’t losing ever. Tony Khan texts Tony Schiavone to confirm it will be a triple threat at Double Or Nothing for the FTW Championship.
#3. Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis) vs. Matt Sydal – Winner: Konosuke Takeshita
Jon Moxley takes out Takeshita ahead of their IWGP World title match at Double Or Nothing.
#4. Swerve Strickland vs. Nick Wayne – Winner: Swerve Strickland
Christian Cage tries to attack Strickland, but it backfires. He runs to the parking lot to get out of there, but just as he goes to drive, another vehicle blocks him off. It’s Prince Nana! Strickland drags him out of the car, and they proceed to climb on top of it. Nana hands Strickland a steel chair. Christian flees just in time to avoid a chair shot to the head.
#5. Malakai Black vs. Kyle O’Reilly – Winner: Malakai Black
After the match, Malakai Black is drenched in a bloodbath! Adam Copeland appears on the titantron screen with fangs. Be careful what you wish for.
#6. Toni Storm & Mariah May (w/ Luther) vs. Saraya & Harley Cameron (w/ Zak Knight) – Winners: Storm & May
Serena Deeb appears from behind with a chair and cracks both Luther and May, before spiking Storm in the head with the heel of a shoe. Deeb then sits on the steel chair while wrapping Storm’s leg around it with a Single Leg Crab.
#7. Bryan Danielson vs. Satnam Singh – Winner: Bryan Danielson via disqualification
Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt interfere and triple team Danielson. The Young Bucks arrive to hit the EVP Trigger, but they miss, and Danielson takes them on by himself. Kazuchika Okada arrives to distract Danielson while Jack Perry blindsides him. As they set up a table to put him through, a car pulls up to the parking lot. It’s Darby Allin! And Tony Khan is in the driver’s seat. Darby shows up with a flamethrower, which The Elite wants no part of.
