NJPW held an event this morning in Nagaoka, Niigata as part of the New Japan Cup tour. Below you can see the results:
- Satoshi Kojima, Tiger Mask and Yuto Nakashima defeated Togi Makabe, Kosei Fujita and Ryohei Oiwa
- CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano) and Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki, DOUKI, Taichi)
- BULLET CLUB (Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, El Phantasmo, Gedo, Taiji Ishimori) defeated Six Or Nine (Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi) and Guerrillas Of Destiny (Jado, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa) – after the match, Hiroshi Tanahashi saved the losing team from a Bullet Club beatdown, seemingly welcoming G.O.D. in the “good guys” faction
- HOUSE OF TORTURE (EVIL, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi) defeated Suzuki-gun (El Desperado, Taka Michinoku, Yoshinobu Kanemaru)
- United Empire (Aaron Henare, Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb) defeated Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) and Tomoaki Honma
- CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & YOH) defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI)
- New Japan Cup Quarterfinal – Shingo Takagi defeated Hiromu Takahashi
- New Japan Cup Quarterfinal – Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Will Ospreay
The main event finish will definitely be controversial: the referee called for a submission on Ospreay while The Commonwealth Kingpin claims he was simply moving his hand in an attempt to escape. Either way, Zack advances to the semifinals this Saturday in Osaka, Kazuchika Okada vs Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi vs Zack Sabre Jr.
