Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- Apollo Crews won the United States Championship from Andrade by pinfall.
- The IIconics had a promo and then a fight against Bliss Cross Applesauce that Billie Kay and Peyton Royce came out on top of.
- Drew McIntyre was on the VIP Lounge and took out MVP with a Claymore.
- Angel Garza defeated Kevin Owens by pinfall.
- The Street Profits beat The Viking Raiders in golf.
- Austin Theory and Murphy defeated Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo by pinfall. Seth Rollins threatened Carrillo after the match, almost ramming his eye into the steps like he did with Rey Mysterio.
- Edge talked about how he’s going to dig deep to beat Randy Orton at Backlash.
- Nia Jax defeated Natalya and Charlotte Flair to earn a title shot against Asuka for Backlash.
- The Street Profits beat MVP and Bobby Lashley by disqualification. McIntyre fought with Lashley to end the show.
NXT
- Drake Maverick won the Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Semi-Final Triple Threat Match against Kushida and Jake Atlas by pinning Atlas while he was tapping out to Kushida. The finals will take place next week.
- Johnny Gargano defeated Adrian Alanis by submission. After the match, Mia Yim and Keith Lee made fun of the Dinner with the Garganos segments with a parody of it, talking trash about Gargano and Candice LeRae. Candice LeRae will fight Mia Yim next week and Johnny Gargano will face Keith Lee for the North American Championship at TakeOver: In Your House.
- Raquel Gonzalez defeated Shotzi Blackheart by pinfall.
- Charlotte Flair and Chelsea Green defeated Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai by pinfall.
- William Regal and Adam Cole talked over a video chat about the title situation. Velveteen Dream will face Cole at TakeOver: In Your House in a special location. However, if Dream loses, he won’t get another opportunity at the championship so long as Cole is holding the title.
- Tommaso Ciampa defeated Leon Ruff by pinfall.
- Cage Fight: Timothy Thatcher defeated Matt Riddle by submission.
WWE MAIN EVENT
- Bianca Belair defeated Ruby Riott by pinfall
- Shelton Benjamin defeated Akira Tozawa by pinfall
WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
- The show started outside the Performance Center with an angle that Elias had been in an accident that was blamed on Jeff Hardy, who the car for the hit and run was registered to. There was alcohol in the car and Hardy was disoriented and smelled of liquor, so he was arrested while Elias was taken away in an ambulance. As a result, the roster complained about what should happen with the Intercontinental Championship tournament. AJ Styles got a bye, while Daniel Bryan opted to fight for his spot. Since nobody could agree on who he could fight, Adam Pearce set up a battle royal for the right to challenge Bryan.
- Sheamus won the battle royal. In the main event, Bryan beat Sheamus in part due to a distraction by Hardy, who went after Sheamus.
- Cesaro had eliminated Shorty G illegally, which set up a match between the two. Shorty G beat Cesaro by pinfall.
- Lacey Evans and Sonya Deville fought to a double count-out.
- During A Moment of Bliss with The New Day, they were interrupted by Sasha Banks and Bayley, who talked trash about how they could beat Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross for the tag titles at any time. Bayley then volunteered Banks for a match against Bliss, which Banks won, setting up a tag title match for next week.
- There was a parody of Fast Times at Ridgemont High with Mandy Rose daydreaming about Otis in the pool.
- Kurt Angle announced in a video package that Matt Riddle has joined the SmackDown roster.
WWE 205 LIVE
- Tony Nese defeated Tyler Breeze by pinfall.
- Tehuti Miles defeated Danny Burch by pinfall
