John Cena is kicking off Friday Night SmackDown! As he gets a mic, he starts playing to the crowd before discussing his latest stint – wherein he has been a host, special referee, talk show guest and backstage correspondent. But tonight, he feels like having a match.  He asks for permission to wrestle tonight. The crowd is eating out of the palm of his hand.

He wants a “phenomenal” partner tonight, and AJ Styles’ music hits right on cue. Styles comes out, obliges soon enough, and then they call out The Bloodline. Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso come out to Jim’s music, and come up to the apron, but then high-tail swiftly. The match should be the main event for tonight’s show.

After a commercial break, Cena and Styles are discussing with Adam Pearce the proposed match aforementioned. Pearce likes the idea but says that when you are dealing with The Bloodline, Paul Heyman is involved.

After a video package of The Rock and Pat McAfee’s surprise appearance on SmackDown last week (pitched by the commentary team), Austin Theory suddenly appears at ringside, getting in the announcers’ face. Security appears and pulls him away.

Back from the break, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller are backstage with Adam Pearce. Ridge Holland and Butch appear to confront them, and a tag team match is made official for later tonight.

Back in Bobby Lashley’s private locker room, The All Mighty is irate at The Street Profits following their loss to LWO tonight, even after Lashley’s help. Dawkins & Ford need to make things right; otherwise, Lashley will focus someone other than them. Oh, also, he’ll take the suits back.

#2. WWE Women’s Championship: IYO SKY vs. Asuka – Winner: IYO SKY

Bayley and Dakota Kai repeatedly interfered to help SKY. The crescendo saw Charlotte Flair appear to neutralize them, but the distraction is enough for SKY to take advantage and get the win over Asuka.

Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman are backstage in The Bloodline’s locker room. Adam Pearce comes in with some papers, ostensibly the conract for the tag match. Paul E. says that the match isn’t a problem, but it won’t happen tonight. Pearce says the contract is for Fastlane.

Heyman goes who agreed to that, but Jimmy Uso says they accept, and they’ll sign the contract in the ring later tonight. Pearce nods and exits.

Paul E. says these decisions require Roman Reigns’ authorization, but Jimmy smiles and asks Heyman to let him know what The Tribal Chief says. After Jimmy exits, Solo tells Heyman to not be worried. After tonight, Cena and Styles won’t even be there for Fastlane. He too exits, prompting Paul Heyman to ask Siri to call Roman Reigns.

The table and leather chairs are all set up in the ring, and Adam Pearce introduces John Cena for the contract signing. Cena comes out and wastes no time, signing it immediately. Pearce then introduces Styles, but there’s no sign of him.

Cameras catch up with Jimmy Uso beating the hell out of Styles backstage. Cena rushes back to aid AJ. We then see Solo Sikoa jump from like 15 feet in the air and knock Styles out with the Splash. Jimmy & Solo get out of there as backstage personnel check on Styles. Cena arrives too, and we head to a commercial break.

Back from the break, Paul Heyman is doing the Don Callis-esque slow walk to the ring, complete with the booing. Backstage, AJ Styles is on a stretcher and is loaded into an ambulance. Mia Yim and Karl Anderson are accompanying him as John Cena looks on. Anderson says to Cena that he had been warning Styles about not getting involved with The Bloodline. Cena’s stunned and baffled at what ha just happened.

Back in the arena, Jimmy and Solo walk to the ring. Solo clears out the ring aggressively, and then Paul Heyman begins the talking. He says that he now has a contract in his hand signed by “the second greatest of all time,” but with no tag partner. Jimmy suddenly drops the mic out of Heyman’s hand. The crowd’s chanting for “Rocky,” before Jimmy starts to address Cena, saying that you don’t get involved in The Bloodline’s business.

Cena runs down to the ring and Solo jumps out to brawl with him. Cena takes him out, In the ring, Cena takes Jimmy out. Solo then attack Cena again… Cena holds him off but the numbers game eventually catch up to him. He’s taken out with a Superkick and a Samoan Spike, and is the assault continues as he is delivered yet another Samoan Spike, followed by the Uso Splash. The crowd’s chanting ‘Rocky’ again. Jimmy grabs the contract from Heyman and signs the contract, then so does Solo. He then lands another Uso Splash.

Jimmy and then Solo do The Bloodline ‘we the ones’ gesture. They stand tall over a fallen John Cena as SmackDown goes off the air.
