We bring you coverage for the episode of WWE SmackDown airing on March 8, 2024.
The episode opens by showing us The Rock & Roman Reigns making their way in to the venue with security. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins are also shown doing the same thing.
Logan Paul talks a bunch before revealing that Prime is the first “center of the ring sponsor” in WWE history. He introduces KSI in to the ring to set up for a photo, just as Randy Orton’s music plays. Orton slides in to the ring and almost RKO’s Logan, but the champion escapes. Instead, he RKO’s KSI, sips on some Prime, and then pours the rest of it on KSI’s crotch.
#1. Randy Orton & Kevin Owens vs. Grayson Waller & Austin Theory – Winner: Orton & Owens with the RKO
Logan Paul jumps Owens & Orton from behind, but Randy grabs his arm and takes the brass knuckles away. The US Champ quickly backs off.
In a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton, Bayley says she is hanging on by a thread lately. She keeps questioning what was real. Was they ever really friends? Dakota Kai manipulated and tricked her. She admits to having made a few enemies over the years, mostly to get attention, but that was to help Iyo and Dakota. She is going to do everything in her power to break them.
Naomi was watching the interview and feels sorry for Bayley, but Bianca Belair has no sympathy at all. She was the one who created Damage CTRL. If Naomi had been around, she would have come for her as well. She made her bed and now she has to lie in it.
#2. Bobby Lashley vs. Karrion Kross – Winner: Lashley via DQ after AOP’s interference
Street Profits rush on down to help Bobby Lashley. After distracting AOP, Lashley goes to apply the Hurt Lock, but Scarlett distracts him. B-Fab appears in the ring to slap and chase her to the back. Just as Bobby applies the Hurt Lock, AOP gets back in the ring to stop him. Final Testament takes out Lashley and wins the fight.
Dragon Lee is confronted backstage. Santos Escobar tells him that Rey Mysterio and the LWO are the past, while Legado Del Fantasma are the future.
#3. Tiffany Stratton vs. Michin – Winner: Tiffany Stratton
AJ Styles explains why he attacked LA Knight at Elimination Chamber. He is sick of him thinking he owns the place. AJ thinks he needs to be humbled, and he is the most phenomenal choice for the job. LA Knight sees the warning, so he responds by destroying the TV he was watching.
#4. Dragon Lee vs. Angel Garza (w/ Legado Del Fantasma) – Winner: Dragon Lee
Legado Del Fantasma immediately jumps in the ring to mug Dragon Lee.
The main segment features Roman Reigns & The Rock in the ring at the same time with Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins. After Reigns asks the crowd to “acknowledge us”, Rhodes & Rollins enter through the crowd and steps in the ring.
Cody Rhodes says he feels lucky to be standing here and feeling this in front of a packed out crowd. He heard the stipulations given by The Rock for a tag match at WrestleMania. Has he got the authority to do that? Given he acknowledged Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief. The Rock cuts him off by telling him to shut his mouth. He’s going to drop some gospel on his punk ass right now.
He acknowledged Reigns because it is what family does. WrestleMania night 1, let The Rock reiterate the stakes. He repeats the stipulations. While he does, the crowd chants “diarrhea” at Rock. Rollins then tells him to shut up. They already know the stakes. He had his time and he can’t have theirs. They want the answer? They accept. Roman Reigns laughs and asks Cody Rhodes if he lets Seth Rollins talk for him.
The Rock chimes in and reminds Cody and Seth that he is their boss. If Cody does not complete his story, he will never get another shot. The Rock asks Cody some questions about his family before asking why he is so much younger than his siblings? it’s because he is a mistake. Cody Rhodes slaps him… and the show ends there. We’ll likely get the rest of this segment on YouTube.
