There is no way around it, WWE needs some new stars. We have sung Cesaro’s praises for what seems like a decade now. Cesaro’s push topic has been as taboo a topic as John Cena’s heel turn. The man is one of the most gifted ring technicians I have ever seen. He has the look, he has the ability he is just missing one thing. No, I am not talkng about his mic work. The last vital piece of this Cesaro puzzle is that he needs some type of crowd reactive catch phrase, motion or gimmick. Look at all of the most recent wrestlers that have gotten over with both the live crowds and the IWC. Daniel Bryan had the “yes” chants and throwing his hands in the air, New Day has the “New Day Rocks/Sucks dichotomy, Flair and his “woo”, the New Age Outlaws and their whole shtick, the list goes on. This new era of wrestling where wrestling matters, that has gotten Cesaro over thus far. However, he just needs the right catch phrase, crowd interaction and of course a few wins under his belt to be the guy that WWE needs.
As of this writing he has tried using the whole arm gunner thing which is ok, I guess. But if he had just a quick easily repeatable catch phrase he could cut quick concise promos, and not even have to talk all that much, he could let his wrestling speak for itself. The diehard wrestling fans support Cesaro, what he needs is the widespread casual audience. Cesaro has one of the best workout regimes in all of WWE, if they could just show him working out maybe offering some tips to the WWE Universe, or showing his as more of an intellectual, which it looks like he might be, he could have more of a character than just the bland but amazing technical wrestler. With a new theme song with an opening hook besides a siren, a baddass catchphrase and a couple wins, Cesaro really could be the “man” that Triple H is looking for. He truly is only fingertips away from grabbing the “brass ring” he just needs that glass shattering moment.
