Who Will Win the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match? (Monday Morning Q&A)

Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.

So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!

1) Who do you think will win the 2023 Face of the Revolution ladder match on Dynamite?

I’m immediately ruling out Action Andretti, Ortiz and AR Fox. I think they’re there to get a spotlight, but not to win.

Sammy Guevara and Powerhouse Hobbs are noteworthy names to fill out the group, but I don’t think they’ll come out on top, either. I fully expect MJF to retain the title and I can’t imagine he’s going to fight either of them any time soon.

More so, this comes down to Konosuke Takeshita, Eddie Kingston and Komander. There are arguments for all three.

With Takeshita, he’s being groomed for a major role and has history with MJF and Bryan Danielson. However, he DID already fight MJF on Dynamite’s Championship Fight Night episode. Going back to that again isn’t too crazy, but it is indeed a repeat.

Komander is a new name. Giving him a big win positions him in a strong spot. I could definitely see that happening.

But Eddie Kingston getting a title shot against MJF is easy money. It’s going to happen sooner or later. They could make that a regular feud, or they can use this to spark it.

I’m going with Kingston, with Takeshita as my #2 pick and Komander with the bronze medal.

2) Who do you think will win the Casino Battle Royale to earn the final spot in the four-way for the tag titles?

It would make sense to balance out the lineup with another babyface team. If that is true, that narrows down the field by half.

Trent and Chuck Taylor, along with The Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and John Silver, just don’t seem to have momentum on their side. They’re filling out numbers.

Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta would be the biggest names to include, and could very well put on a great showing here. That might even be the plan to start a feud with Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. We could see Castagnoli vs. Jarrett and Yuta vs. Lethal at Supercard of Honor with this jumpstarting it.

Top Flight and Lucha Bros both make perfect sense to me if that isn’t the case, though. Both teams vying for the tag titles is easy to imagine.

My brain is telling me Blackpool Combat Club. Lucha Bros is my gut choice, though. And there’s that nagging voice in my head that says “if you don’t say Top Flight, you know you’re wrong.”

Ultimate guess, though? Claudio and Wheeler.

3) Who do you think answers Wes Lee’s open challenge for a North American Championship shot this week on NXT?

Since Dijak is fighting Tony D’Angelo at NXT Roadblock, and Von Wagner is going to fight D’Angelo this week, those four seem to be revolving around each other. I’m convinced we’re getting a Fatal 4-Way at Stand & Deliver (Lee, Dijak, D’Angelo, Wagner) with the slight chance some more are added to the mix.

In order for that to happen, someone else would have to pop up relatively soon to not feel shoehorned in at the last minute. Now could be that time. But what’s far more likely is the simpler route. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo gets the shot, comes up short, and we see Lee interacting some more with D’Angelo, Dijak and Wagner. Stacks is a sacrificial lamb on the road to Stand & Deliver. He’ll get involved in the match itself then, and might even help D’Angelo win the title.

4) What do you think is going on with The Miz’s envelope?

Maryse gave this to The Miz as an anniversary gift. However, he immediately said this has to do with WrestleMania and is big enough news to justify a MizTV segment next week.

Since Maryse has no booking power, I doubt this is about a match. After all, The Miz doesn’t even have any feuds going on right now.

Instead, the only thing that makes sense to me is that The Miz is going to announce that he’s hosting WrestleMania in some capacity. Why Maryse was in charge of giving him an envelope to surprise him with that as an anniversary gift is beyond me, but I honestly don’t think WWE will look at that and say “That doesn’t make any sense.” They’ll just write it off as one of those dumb writing problems that you’re not supposed to think about; move on and just focus on the actual announcement, ya stupid jerk fan who doesn’t want to suspend their disbelief.

Since we had a Kevin Owens Show last year, I think we’re calling back to Piper’s Pit at WrestleMania again, too. I think The Miz is going to host a “very special edition of MizTV” with a guest at WrestleMania that will be a legend or celebrity to draw more attention to the event.

My main guesses for that are that they could very well be getting The Rock for just that appearance (as it wouldn’t require him to be physically fit enough for a match like the claimed reason why he’s not fighting Roman Reigns) or maybe Batista, as he should be going into the Hall of Fame. The Rock being there could even lead to him helping Cody Rhodes fight off The Bloodline (alongside I’m assuming Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens), and then, Roman Reigns has a bone to pick with Dwayne to set up a match for WrestleMania 40.

5) After several reports of “Trish Stratus is going to be here” ending with “plans must have changed”, do you think she’s finally showing up on Raw this week, or not?

Yes. This week, Becky Lynch and Lita are fighting for the tag titles. I wholly expect Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey to be vying for those championships at WrestleMania, but I can’t imagine Becky and Lita get left off the card. Therefore, this is looking more and more to me like Bayley will interfere to allow Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky to win (or at least, retain by DQ, while losing the match).

Trish will come out to help them fight off the 3-on-2 odds. That will set up Trish vs. Bayley at WrestleMania. Since Becky and Lita will have won, they’ll be entitled to a second chance. But Ronda and Shayna will claim they lost their bid and it is their turn. We’ll either get Dakota/Iyo vs. Becky/Lita vs. Ronda/Shayna at Mania, or WWE will also throw another team in there like Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez pairing off or Natalya with Tegan Nox.
