Neither United States Champion Austin Theory nor Bobby Lashley appeared at a WWE live event this week despite previously being advertised.
Theory recaptured the U.S. title at Survivor Series: WarGames, dethroning Seth Rollins in a triple-threat match that also included Lashley.
For the December 30th live event at Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum, the main event was promoted as a U.S. Title Steel Cage match between Theory and Rollins.
Hours before the show, the arena’s website changed the card, with the main event being a non-title cage match between Lashley and Rollins.
The show’s actual main event would see Rollins defeat The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor in the cage.
Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley entered the cage mid-match to attack Rollins but were ran off by Becky Lynch.
No explanation has been given as to why Theory and Lashley didn’t make the show.
