One match on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite almost didn’t happen due to medical clearance. Rey Fenix successfully defended the International Title against Jeff Jarrett and seemed injured, but he is reportedly fine.
Next week, Fenix will face Nick Jackson for the International Title on Dynamite.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer, Fenix was cleared for the match late in the afternoon and it wasn’t a lock that the bout would take place the day of the show.
Bryan Alvarez also mentioned that Jackson was unprepared to wrestle against Brian Cage on Dynamite as he didn’t have his ring gear. Everything he wore was put together at the last minute.
