As seen during this week’s episode of RAW, Johnny Gargano made his return to WWE.
According to a report from Fightful, Gargano’s name was not listed on any of the rundowns for the show. Many people on the production team also weren’t aware that he’d be returning.
As far as the talent and employees are concerned, many found out that he was there as they saw him being escorted through the backstage area just minutes before he came through the curtain. So clearly, he was kept hidden throughout the day.
Additionally, WWE had a continued interest in re-signing Gargano while he was a free agent. With that being said, they respected his wishes for time off due to a newborn baby.
Of course, the company knew they had a much better chance of getting him to return when Triple H came into control of creative.
As of this writing, there is no word on if Gargano had any advanced talks with AEW. Impact Wrestling was never considered to be a serious option for “Johnny Wrestling.”
