After Vince McMahon beat Pat McAfee at Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania 38 (Night Two) pay-per-view event, Steve Austin came out to hit Stunners on McAfee, Austin Theory, and McMahon.
McMahon was trending on Twitter because he did not take the move as it was intended. McMahon went to one knee and then stumbled as he was getting up. Austin then grabbed him and hit the move correctly (sort of!).
WrestlingNews.co reports that it was all smiles backstage and no one seemed bothered by the botch. The wrestlers and staff who were watching on the monitors got a kick out of seeing McMahon taking a bump again.
There was no heat on the audio person who briefly played Theory’s music when he was supposed to hit Austin’s music, which caused McMahon to react and act concerned.
The word going around backstage is that Austin was happy with his performance in the match with Kevin Owens on Saturday and there are no plans for him to wrestle again.
