On last week’s episode of SmackDown, WWE held the unification bout between RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, which was supposed to take place at WrestleMania: Backlash, but was later changed.
The Usos went over Orton and Riddle with the help of Roman Reigns to unify the titles.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that having The Usos win the match was a last minute decision. WWE did have plans for the post-match beatdown angle, but never planned to actually unify the titles.
However, WWE felt that they needed to have a finish after building it up for several weeks.
