Becky Lynch does far more for WWE as a villain than as a hero, at least as far as the former RAW Women’s Champion is concerned.
After over a year out due to pregnancy, Lynch returned to WWE TV at SummerSlam 2021 and re-established herself as a heel with a shocking win over Bianca Belair.
Until that point in her career, Lynch had worked as a babyface, becoming one of WWE’s most popular female Superstars.
Speaking during New York City Advertising Week, Lynch explained her reasoning for why she’s a better heel for WWE. She said,
“When it comes to the business and wrestling as a whole and women’s wrestling, I feel I can be of help by being a heel. When you’re a babyface, it’s all about you and how good you look, and how we make the audience like you the most. When you’re a heel, it’s all about how you make the babyface look good and how you can get people invested and want to see this person win.
Lynch last competed at SummerSlam 2022, where she suffered a separated shoulder during her match with Belair.
Lynch has so far avoided surgery and there is hope within WWE that she will return to TV by the end of this year.
