Dave Meltzer mentioned in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main event for SummerSlam had been changed. Originally, the main event was set to be Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar in WWE Universal Championship bout. Then Lesnar was set to lose the WWE Universal Championship to Reigns at WrestleMania next year. However, plans changed a few weeks ago to Roman Reigns vs. Lesnar at SummerSlam.
With Reigns vs. Lesnar taking place at SummerSlam, it’s likely the main event for WrestleMania 34 has been changed although WWE could do a third Reigns vs. Lesnar match at the show. There is speculation that WWE could book John Cena vs. Reigns as the main event of WrestleMania.
Meltzer noted that “everyone realizes how strong Samoa Joe has gotten over in the Lesnar feud.”
