Booker T recently spoke on the latest episode of his “Hall of Fame Podcast” about the situation involving MJF and AEW. MJF’s promo revealed many of his grievances towards the company, including not being paid properly. While there has been some chatter that all of this is a work, Booker believes that those in the television network space had no idea this situation would make its way on-air.
“I don’t think they would’ve been expecting something like that, I don’t think MJF went over the promo with the TBS Executives,” Booker T said. “Everything that MJF normally talks about, normally he’s spot on. He’s speaking from the heart, those are his truths. For him to say that has some feeling of realism to me. As far as the execs and him not being on television and what not, if they thought of that angle more power to them but is that something you want the world to know that’s the way you feel about your boss.”
Warner Bros. Discovery issued an edict to remove MJF from all AEW promotional material going forward. The network executives may be in on this potential work, but removing MJF completely from any promotional material is a lot of work to keep fans on their toes.
That said, there hasn’t been any word on whether MJF will appear or whether he’ll be fired due to this. During his promo last week, he called Tony Khan a “mark” and suggested that he’d be better off not being in charge of the company. Booker explained how he feels hesitant about using that word in his career.
“Every time I felt like I wanted to say that word about somebody in this business, it’s been real,” Booker T said. “I restrained myself from saying it but it’s been many times where I wanted to say ‘Man, you are a freakin mark!’ I’m serious because you don’t know what the hell you’re doing or you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. That’s the way I would really feel if I would call somebody a mark. Normally when a person goes there, it’s real man, it’s real as it can possibly be.”
AEW Dynamite is tonight, so maybe MJF will somehow appear on the show. The likelihood of that happening, though, is slim.
